CREATIVE PATTERN CUTTING
We create every pattern individually, based upon a simple line sketch, technical drawing, doodle or pre-existing garment.

The first draft of each pattern is assembled and fitted as a 3D paper toile onto a tailor’s mannequin to ensure that the balance and proportions meet with the design vision before the final pattern is completed. This process minimizes waste and the desire to cut and sew a calico toile for every pattern, every time.

Once the pattern is finished, it is annotated with cutting instructions, any details such as pockets are clearly marked and all balance points notched to ensure the garment is assembled accurately with any ease applied in the correct position.

A detailed sketch and measurement chart is created to accompany each pattern, containing construction notes and information such as top stitching details, seam allowances, hem finishing, button placements.

Patterns are supplied on 60gsm paper and a digital copy in PLT or DXF format for opening in pattern cutting industry software such as Vetigraph, Gerber Accumark or Lectra.

Any pattern can be updated, amended, graded and/or re-printed onto 60gsm paper and posted to you at any time.
Patterns can also be translated into Ai files specifically for digital simulation into a 3D sewn garment using applications such as CLO. Please contact us to discuss this so your pattern can be formatted accordingly.
All patterns are securely stored as a digital file and are accessible only by Nicky Cook Patterns.
